CEMENT TILE INSTALLATION
Prepare a perfectly level concrete surface to install cement tiles.
In concrete or cement, 20mm below the line of the intended floor height (15mm for 20x20 tiles and 4mm for mortar).

1 - Wait until the surface is dry. This will prevent the formation of white calcium spots that can result from the evaporation of water
through the cement tile.

If you choose a traditional carpet style pattern, you must first frame the centre part, then lay down the border tiles.
Finally, lay down the outside tiles, which can be resized without disrupting the pattern you have created.

2 - Clean and dampen the underside of the tiles to help adhesion.

3 - Apply the adhesive mixture evenly to the floor subsurface, using a wide comb. Also apply adhesive to the back of the tile.

4 - Lay down the tiles and carefully press them into place using your hands (do not use a tool such as a rubber hammer to set the tile).
This could cause micro cracks to appear in the tile.

We do not recommend laying down the cement tiles directly on a fresh concrete or a layer compacted cement/sand.
Over time, this incorrect technique will create uneven floor tiles that could easily become loose, crack or break.

IMPORTANT :
Leave a very small gap (1mm) between the tiles.
Take care to align the tiles so that a regular pattern is maintained throughout the floor.

Ensure that the tiles are perfectly level throughout the installation, because cement tiles can't be reduced or water polished like
marble or terrazzo.

JOINTS :
The small space between the tiles can be filled with liquid cement using a spatula.
Immediately remove any excess filler with a damp cloth.

Never use pigments for the cement joint filler.
The dye in liquid phase would infiltrate nearest slabs leaving irreversible stains.

CLEANNING during the job :
Immediately clean any cement residue or stains following installation.
Paint stains or hard cement spots can be delicately
